Owls (And a bargain)

I guess you could say owls are my favorite animal. I'm not particularly sure when they surpassed the moose (although moose is still a close second). I think the blame can be placed at Harry Potter's feet, or J.K. Rowling's. In the fifth book, Order of the Phoenix, Uncle Vernon gets upset about all the owls coming to his house and he says something along the lines of a peck, no a pack of owls. Or something like that, I'm not going to bother digging the books off the shelf to find it exactly. I have the books on CD and would often listen while in the shower when David and I lived in California. And instead of going to all the trouble of changing out the CD, I just listened to the start of one over and over for probably a month. I still think of Monterey whenever I hear that point in the story now.

Oh, right, back to the point, owls. When I was coming up with a more fitting name for my blog, something that meant something to me personally. I thought of how my Grandmother had always sung Bushel and a peck to me. And how I sing it to my children. And I thought of owls. A peck of owls. (Just a heads up, a group of owls is actually called a Parliament.)

I saw this today. I'm going to have to buy one. I think my little owls need them. At least Grace would just love it.

This little guy and a couple friends can be found at Little Owl Arts on Etsy. And her blog: http://www.littleowlarts.blogspot.com/

This also means I will be joining the Pay it Forward game that she has joined.

How it works;

* I will make a little handmade Katie-crafy-something-or-other for the first 3 people who comment on this post who would like to play along.

* I have a year (365 days) to complete my mission and send off the goods! Sounds like enough time, right?!

* There is no telling what those things might be, or when they will show up in the post, it's a mystery.

Details, or the fine print;

Since this is ‘Pay It Forward’. You, my dears, must do as I have done and post a similar blog entry yourself, hence Paying the handmade bloggy goodness Forward and keeping the meme, and the fun, going.

Would you like to join in? Of course you do. You have an entire year to make whatever you want, it can be something small or tall or short and stout, even something round. And you will receive something made by me! Ooh, the possibilities!

I should be able to do this easy, since my readership is rather low. ;)

So please someone comment.

Katie
